Cheryl A. Harley

Cheryl has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in drawing and painting from Colorado State University, enough credits for a BFA in ceramics and has recently earned a teaching license for art grades K through 12. She studied at the Kansas City Art Institute as a teenager. Cheryl has won many art awards in several medias in Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada where she was accepted into the Artist in Residence program.

Cheryl is well practiced in portraiture, both animal and people, in pencil, pastels, mixed media, ceramics, and oils. Interior decorating is also a passion with particular delight in executing the design concepts herself having created painted cement floors, stone walls, wall treatments, floral designs, leather throw pillows, murals, original stencils, leather curtains and bedspreads, fur bedspreads and plaster wall finishes.

Having been accused of being too eclectic, she can't help but experiment with different venues, media, styles and subject matter, always enjoying a new challenge.

"I love to work and I love to try new things. If that makes me eclectic, so be it. A girl's gotta have some fun!"

Cheryl is also an accomplished horsewoman having competed and won on a national level in goat tying, team roping and barrel racing. This helps explain her affinity for animal and rodeo art.
